| Regentis Cartilage Repair Trial |
|
Regentis expects to start a multi-national clinical trial in the next few months in order to obtain CE marketing approval for its medical device implant to repair damaged cartilage. Based on the company’s Gelrin technology platform, the implant stimulates the healing of bone and cartilage tissue and enables the body to replace the damaged tissue with tissue of the same quality as the native tissue. Gelrin is a biosynthetic hybrid hydrogel with a biological backbone and synthetic cross-links. The implant is fully biodegradable yet remains anchored during the entire healing process. The implants are off-the-shelf products that can be applied in situ at the injury site using minimally invasive surgery or ex vivo during open surgery. Regentis was founded in the Technion incubator in 2004 and is headed by CEO Yehiel Tal. |
